Quranic Numerics · Gold Melting Point
Gold melts at exactly 1,064.18°C. No thermometer on Earth could measure this until the 1700s. Yet the Quran encodes this number through two separate verse counts - and both land on 1,064. Here are the four verses involved:
Verse 3:14 - gold as a worldly desire: «وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ الْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ» - "...heaped-up piles of gold and silver"
Verse 10:8 - fire as consequence: «مَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ» - "Their refuge is the Fire"
Verse 22:23 - gold in Paradise: «يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍ» - "...bracelets of gold"
Verse 35:21 - scorching heat: «الْحَرُورُ» - "Scorching heat"
Path A counts verses from 3:14 (gold desire) to 10:8 (fire), not including the start verse. Path B counts verses from 22:23 (paradise gold) to 35:21 (scorching heat), including the start verse. Different starting points, different counting methods, different endpoints. Both equal 1,064.
Path A starts at 3:14 where the Quran says «مِنَ الذَّهَبِ» (gold) and ends at 10:8 where it says «النَّارُ» (fire). Path B starts at 22:23 where it says «مِن ذَهَبٍ» (gold) and ends at 35:21 where it says «الْحَرُورُ» (scorching heat). What do both paths have in common at their start and end?
Each path connects a gold verse to a fire/heat verse. Gold melts when you apply fire or extreme heat. The number of verses between "gold" and "fire/heat" equals the temperature at which fire actually melts gold. Run both paths to see this.
Path A ends at 10:8: «مَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ» (the Fire). Path B ends at 35:21: «الْحَرُورُ» (scorching heat). Both paths start at gold verses and end at fire/heat verses. Both count to 1,064. What melts at 1,064.18°C?
